Bilstein HD's and factory turbo springs?

According to Adrian Streather's book the US M030 springs are similar or the same to the turbo units, although part numbers are different.

In an attempt to keep a 964 in stock class for autocross I need to stay with stock springs but shocks, sways bushings are free. This is for a 964 C2

Has anyone attempted to use Bilstein HD's with stock 94 turbo springs, RS sways and poly bushings. I know this sounds a bit absurd, why not just go with the H&R turbo springs and do it right? However I am limited to using a stock factory spring. The problem is the car already has a Bilstein HD/eibach set up and I do not have the stock components. I do have the stock springs from my 94 turbo and i was thinking if they could be used with the new Bilsteins on the car all I would need is the sways and bushings.

Does this sound as crazy to you as I think it sounds or does anyone have any positive feedback trying something like this?
What other options might be better and still keep me in stock class?

Thanks in advance.

I believe this is what Bob Farmer installed on my 92 C4 recently. I can verify the color codes on the springs - but I recall that they were the same color codes given by Adrian in his book for ROW Turbo M030. Bob replaced my H&R Turbo springs that were too stiff and low for me for my primarily street driving. The new springs are a bit softer, and ride a bit higher (1/2-3/4"?) than the HR Turbos (reds). I ran my first DE with the new springs, but since this was my first DE, I cannot offer any insight on the car's performance. Bob got them through his supplier in just 3-4 days, but I do not know the part numbers.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work. The stock US M030 springs will raise your car back to factory ride height.

If you need another set of the US M030 springs, I have a set. I also have the stock 1990 springs.

If you do end up changing out the shocks and springs, let me now If you are going to sell the current set. I am looking to do that upgrade soon. Or maybe trade for the stock springs I have?
Thanks
Derek

Actually it looks like they are changing the rules this year so I can keep the set up as is.

I found the Eibach springs to be a bit progressive over the H&R. I think the H&R green or if you like stiffer, Red are a better choice if you plan on doing any DE or autocross. The eibachs are very smooth around town but are a little sloppy at speed. I am adding TRG sways which should help with the lose feeling you get with the eibachs. I will post when I get around to installing them.

If you put turbo springs into your non-turbo, isn’t that considered non-stock? Sure, the springs are a factory part, but they never came on your car. I would think that would be a considered a non-stock upgrade on your car.

Yes and know.

I had learned that the springs on the turbo are identical to those used on the RSA and are the same as the M030 option available on the C2's. So if it is an available option it is considered acceptable since this car could have been optioned with these springs from the factory. Actually the fronts on the C2's and turbos are the same it is just the rears that are stiffer.

These rules can drive you crazy.
