964 window motor
Can someone tell me how to test the door window motors in a 90 964. The window in the drivers door stopped working. How can I test the relay to see if it if working? The other window works fine. Thought that maybe only one side of the relay is bad or if it will turn out to be the motor. I'll use a test light of corse.

There is one window regulator relay, R22.
All it does is pass +12V between pins 30 and 87 with ignition ON. With switch pulled from harness plug, you should get +12V on pins 3 and 5 with ignition ON (meter set to VDC, red probe on pin 3 or 5 and black probe grounded to chassis. Pin 4 is ground. (set meter to continuity) Pins 1 and 2 on the plug side goes to motor. To test motor, turn ignition switch OFF, put +12 V on pin 1 and grounding wire to pin 2. Test if motor moves. To reverse motor rotation, reverse the connections. Do not run the motor too long, just test for short and quick window movement. Most of the time, it's just a broken switch. These reversing window switches don't last too long.
