blower fan
I have questions about the fan up under the front cowl. Are they set up to cycle on an off? I'm replaceing the fan on the right (pass side) and are there any tricks to putting the new one in. I have a new one that looks very cheap and I can't turn the even an inch. It seems as it is hitting on the flat plastic at the rear of the fan. Should I be able to spin the fan. I know it whirls up when running but it seems stiff to me. Any help please.

Should spin with some sluggishness and is pretty heavy duty. Pretty easy job. The ballast resistor ($50 piece of ceramic) and temp sensor at upper rear of the oil coil, tells it when to go off, slow or fast. Unplug the wire that plugs into the oil coil to make it on-fast 100%. Mine is set that way. To save juice and the motor, I pull my fan relay or fuse out in the winter. BTW: it's good chance to clean the crap from the cooler - drive to the car wash without the fender liner and blast away. Mine doesn't get above the 8:00 line even with the fan pull deenergized.
