1992 MacSource Carrera Cup...........

Here are a few pictures of my friends factory Carrera Cup that we just returned back to the original livery for him. Competed in may races at Nurburgring, Spa, etc... back in the day and now resides here stateside running at Watkins Glen, Limerock, and the like.

Used to look like this......

My questions is does anyone know where the other two sister cars reside these days??? I know that the MacSource team had three Carrera Cups, and this particular one here also competed in the SuperCup series. One was dark/light greens and the other was dark/light blues. Similar graphics.

Just curious. Mike Ferra(owner of this one) has pictures of one of the other sister cars, but I'm just personally curious as to where the rest of the "family" lives now :) Abiet a femenin color I still drive the piss out of it.

Nicely done!

You might want to cross post to Rennlist/964. That's where most of the Cuppies seem to hang.

I see you already did

Actually that was done by my friend, Mike Ferra, who owns the above car.

Great car!

Fabricated a heat sheild for the rear bumper on the Cup. Hot exhaust/flames do a number on the paint back here and it had already burnt the paint from past racing. Hand formed from 6061 aluminum...

BoxxerSix,

What's the exhaust setup on the car, is it factory style cup? Do you get alot of open flame with that length of pipe?

Beautiful work on that surround, you could make a fortune selling them to guys that need a second pipe and don't want to buy a full bumper section.

It has the full Fabspeed exhaust on it....cat bypass, central tube, g-pipe, and tip. It shoots a bit of flame out on deceleration, not alot, but enough. The heat radiating off the tip is what really melts the bumper as there isn't enough exhaust tube/muffler system to absorb some of the heat before it hits the tip.

I'm actually contemplating a run of these. I've had a few interested parties in this piece, as well as a few who are interested in a left/right matching pair for the 965. I've got a dolly made for the right side and will have another 965 up here relatively soon for work, at which point I can make a left side dolly.

Thanks for the compliment on the shield. Makes me fell like doing this work is actually a good thing :)
