Question Highest miles 964 out there?

164k on my clock. black, 1990 964 C4 cab with excellent history going back to origin for every major service, which included a couple of engine drops, all necessary upgrades including cylinders to head seals, dual dizzy vent kit, dual-mass flywheel replacement, etc. plus routine maintenance. two months of ownership and hasn't dripped a drop on my carport floor. anyone with higher or similar (s)miles?

Wow, 164k miles. Is this on original P&Cs?
Did the PO replace or just had the cylinders remachined to accept the head and base seals? What about valve guides?

I have 84k on mine but it's a 1993. 1 quart oil every 2000 miles.
I fixed all the oil leaks myself. Power steering, oil return line to case seal, oil drain seal and oil pressure sensor o-ring.
Replaced the fan/alt belts, dizzy belt and replaced voltage regulator. Also replaced the clutch master cylinder lately and that's about it.
I only spent about $400 in parts over two years to get it to where I can drive it daily.

I wonder how long the original clutch and valve guides/seals will last.
Will my clutch last 150k? We'll see. I don't ride the clutch and always match revs when up and downshifting.
I hope to drive it up to 150k miles on original engine and clutch.

90 C4 with 209k OEM drip drip drip motor, but runs strong especially after new dizzy, plug wires and coils. Rebuild/reseal was planned for her sweet 16, but.....

180,000 + on a 1992 C-2. Oh and the odo is broken right now, replacement is on the way. Wife drives it everyday as did the PO. Apart right now fixing oil leak on the line from the filter assembly to the T'stat which turned into a tank replacement. Actually needs top end which will happen soon but with her driving it should go a bit longer before absolutely necessary.

'79 SC has about same mileage. Cool weather daily driver for me.

For you guys with high mileage engines, what grade and brand of oil has the engine historically been using ?

I have 220K miles on the original engine on a daily driver (90 C4 Cab). I'm running Mobil 1 15W-50 and change it once a year.
