95 993 Cabriolet Top Adjustment

My 95 C2's Cabriolet top started jamming and I chose to try adjusting the vertical and horizontal adjustments behind the rear speakers. Perhaps that was a bad idea. I can make it worse but no better. I took it to the dealer and found there is a recall that replaces the motors at the front latches and they will do that no charge. However, they want to replace the transmissions at a cost of $1700. I can't quite wrap my mind around that one as I believe I caused the problem by maladjusting the roof myself.

Question: Does anyone know of a manual or procedure that will show me how to correctly adjust the roof?

Thank you

Do a search, I have covered this extensively in the past.

Short answer, the drive cables break, and then the transmissions get damaged.

you could switch to a manual top for around the same money or less and avoid future issues. adjustment of the top is a tough job. take your time.

I gave up on mine and removed the motor, drive cables and both gear assemblies. now I just put up the top manually and use the latching motor to grab the top and pull it in.

I've seen your posts on electrical sequences, but I didn't have any luck finding any posts that cover the mechanical ajustments of the top.
