wouldn't think he'd find one with less than 75k on the clock for that price by my guessing. i paid 20k for an extremely clean, well-maintained black 1990 964 C4 cab with 164k on the clock, but not leaking a drop in over two months ownership so far..

I'll send it to my buddy but I imagine he's hoping to find something closer to San Diego. I'm sure he would be very interested if it were closer to his location. Thank you. |

I have decided to sell my 91 C4 Targa to buy a tiptronic so that my wife can also drive it. The car is super clean w/ 85,000. I just (500 miles) put on 17" twists w/ new tires and H&R springs then had alignment done @ Parktown Porsche Audi (dealer) here in st Louis. Total cost of $2200. Top is perfect, interior is perfect, body is perfect except that the hood has been painted. It caught a rock about 4 years ago. I am asking for $27K but I am also asking to win the lottery. Any serious offer over $25K would definately be considered. I will be happy to provide any information requested and PPI's are welcome.
I am the second owner. I have all books, keys, tools, etc. Stereo has been upgraded w/ no modification to the car. Original radio is included. Original springs are included (in the H&R box). NO LEAKS, NO SURPRISES ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Steve

Ryan:
I just decided to sell it today. My wife cannot shift it due to her medical condition and it is ridiculous to have it if we can't both enjoy. I haven't advertised it anywhere but will probably go ahead w/Pelican as well as Autotrader. I am just trying to avoid strokers. I really hate to see it go as it is a great car. I should be able to get a really nice C2 tip for the same money, probably w/ very low miles if I look around. I would kind of like to have another coupe. I have had 3 coupes and 3 targas and although this one is at least watertight, there is still something about the feel of a good coupe that I like. My favorite car all time was a 71 911e w/ no sunroof, no A/C, just a pure car. It was a horrible sepia brown w/ black vinyl and I loved it. Actually maybe it was my second favorite, I had an 83 Ferrari Mondial Cab. that was killer. After the only dealer in Missouri closed shop and I had to go to Chicago for service I sold it. That car was beautiful w/ a gregio and tan combination and a black top. Steve

steve - i hear you there..i loved my '74 coupe..pure car, pure driving experience..very different animal from the C4, and damn do i miss her! you might try cars.com, too. i think that's actually where i found my C4. also be sure to post on rennlist..good cars go there to be sold and yours sure looks and sounds like it fits the bill. you're a good husband to be considerate of your wife's ability to enjoy the car. kudos to you, steve.

Ryan:
It's more than a husband / wife thing, she is my best friend and has been for a long time. We have a 32 YO son and a 26 YO daughter along w/ a 3YO granddaughter. There is just something that most people can't relate to about gassing up a Porsche and driving out into the country w/ no particular agenda that takes the stress out of the mundane existance most folks live in. The 944 I am selling was purchased by us for her 25th birthday and it also cannot be comfortably driven w/ the stick. Her M3 is cool, very fast, very everything it is supposed to be, but it ain't no Porsche. I bought an ML500 as it is also pretty fast, seats 4, etc, but it also ain't no porsche. I have had a lot of cars but 911s are an entity not a machine. My brother, who is a very prominant patent attorney and could buy anything he wanted, still drives a Toyota and does not realize these things are more than transportation. I even let him take the 911 out for a weekend trip w/ my sister-in-law and he still did not get hooked. It got "bad gas mileage". Take care and enjoy that killer black cab you just bought. ![]() Still a great little machine, just underpowered!! Steve
