Removing front tray

Hello everyone,SmileWavy

Just bought this my First 964,

I need to get behind the mesh grilles in the Front valance below driving lamps

and I notice underneath the car therer appears to be a tray
which if removeable easilly would be great.

Who's removed this before, and is it achievable without car on ramp?

I removed mine while it was on the ground and it's really easy. Just a lot of Phillips screws. An electric screwdriver or drill makes it go fast. There are two or three pieces as I recall.

You remove these parts to get at the metal edge that holds the valance with the horizontal openings that often get bent upward on wheel stops and create a "frown". Just bend that lip downward and straighten it out all the way across with some channel locks if you've got that problem.

Good luck with the new car. I bet you'll really enjoy it. Hope it spends more time on the ground than mine has in the first year!

Everything altarchsa said but depending on what you need to access I would jack up the car. The car is quite low to the ground and working in there may be tight.

Thanks guys for that advice,

once the trays removed I only need access to those grilles for about Ten minutes each side, but it has to be from behind

Thought it would be relatively easy but best check before I bugger something up.

Whats wrong with your 89' BTW?
