Tech on changing trans fluid on 964 Turbo
Im changing the oil so I thought I would change the trans oil also while its up.
Is there a good read with pics out there for changing the trans oil also.

Assuming it's like the other G50's I've done - two tips:
1) Take off the fill plug first. Bad to let tranny oil out without way to get in. 2) Small fluid pump to get it in. Will try to find something more specific to the turbo.

As Don mentioned, get that fill plug loose first. A floor jack handle (tube) works as leverage. Clean the allen socket on both plugs thoroughly first. You want as much grip as possible i.e. full engagement.
You'll need two ally crush washers, same as the crankcase oil drain plug. It helps to sit the new gbx oil in the sun to allow it to thin-out some -- makes getting it in the gbx easier. Four quarts should do it as far as capacity goes. |
