Washing cabriolet cover

Can you machine wash a cabriolet cover. Mine has some minor stains, and I wondered if I could throw it into the washer then take it out to air dry.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I have been reading your question with interest, I just sold a 2003 996 cab, I would not put it into a machine wash, they do fit nice and snug and i would suspect that it would stretch in the wash.
2 things I did with mine to keep it nice and clean, firstly hoover it with a vacuum brush attachment very lightly, secondly use a jet washer (not full force) again very lightly.
If I was keeping the car I would have had it treated, which means that a normal hosepipe would be able to keep it clean.
I hope this helps, Chris

Thank you Chris, my wife stopped me in my tracks on the way to the washing machine. She "spot" cleaned it with a sponge and it looks great. I didn't know that 996's had covers?

When I had my 944 Cab I did what your wife di to clean the boot cover up. I also sprayed both the top and boot with Scotch Guard to help protect them.
