Distributor belt
(Had a look through the 964 pages but cant' see reference to this)
![]() several people have now placed the misfire problem of mine with having worn out belt between Distributors. If I want to inspect its condition, how best to go about it please? Those screws look awkward to get at, on the back

I just did this.
Take the distributor cap on the lower left side (the secondaty distributor) If you take off the the rotor and the plasic top you can see the belt. Look very carefully, it can be difficult to see clearly with the dist in the car. I pulled the distrib, since my car has 50K miles. Once I did it I noticed it was frayed. I could not see this while it was in the car. Also the ribs or teeth(?) on the belt look great, but it was fraying on the sides Let me If i can help ? Good luck earl

I missed you last comment - "Those screws look awkward to get at, on the back".
I assume yopu mean the srcew on the distr cap - I know. They should not be on very tight - esp the one on the secondary dist. A med size screw driver and removing the eletricl cover panle should give you access. Earl PS check them first. Mine was stripped! before i started.
