964 slipping clutch
Hi everyone,
My clutch slips when I hit her a little harder (over 4000rpm) usually in 3rd gear. Is there anyway that this might be an adjustment issue that I should check before having the clutch replaced? Thx, Dirk

Sorry... I think you get to buy a new clutch.

:) :) :)
I hit it really hard (6500rpm) on the way home and it didn't slip anymore!
Maybe it was a little dirty or just too cold in the morning (I parked outside which is a new thing for her). HA! I am happy. But I will check it out (measure). Thx for the - somewhat mean - comments!

Test it in 4th or 5th gear while cruising (uphill will be best) by stepping on the gas and try accelerating.
If it does not slip, just drive and enjoy. If it slips, well.....you know what I mean.

thx
That is what I did yesterday and it went well. Actually, in the morning it slipped only when I suddenly applied torque - shifting down and then hitting it hard. In the fith gear it never was a problem (plus here in CA I cannot really drive fast enough in fifth anyhow
