964 Water Leak !!!

Heavy rain seems to be getting into the heating system and collecting the system. When I turn a corner with a bit of power on a dribble of water runs into my shoes. Is it a blocked hose and if so has anyone managed to solve the problem?

Test drove a '89 C4 from Auckland to Wellington a while back in very heavy rain and had the same experience. My '93 Turbo 3.6 has never done the same thing. Not sure what causes the leak, but I'll be interested to follow the thread.

Sounds like water is coming in the air take on the bonnet. I know from my old 83 that I owned it had a drain that would remove any water that came into the system. It drained out underneath the car.

The heating system on the 964 is a lot different, but I would assume it has to have some sort of drain to expell the water. Sounds like that is blocked.

Only guessing, as I have not pulled apart the heating system on a 964. I assume others will point you in the right direction.

There are indeed drains under the climate control, but they will be a PITA to access. Here is a picture of my track C2 with all the heating and A/C removed.

You can see the drains in the middle front, right behind the firewall. You can also see extensive stains from past standing water. To remove the heat, etc. I had to first remove the hood, gas tank, fuse box, and firewall (not a pleasant day spent).

I am having the same issue, I wonder if there is an easier way to get these cleaned out, other than removing all items mentioned above.

Can you blow compressed air thru the drain. Question is where does it drain out? Bottom of car?

Maybe it is not the air system. Mine was leaking through the lower corner of the windshield seal, then into the gap between the dash and seal. There is a vinyl pocket in there that collects water that sloshes out on a turn or hard acceleration. Put some sealant for a temporary fix - but it didn't truly fix until I got new glass and resealed it. Not much rust considering....but it needed some POR-15.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, it looks like I need to spend some time on my back gazing up under where the drain would come out.
I like the idea of tackling it from that end instead of taking everything out from under the hood.
I dont think its the windscreen leaking I've checked that and also had the dash top off before.
Any more suggestions will be welcome.
