Hello all,
I am in the process of my first valve adjustment on my '91 C2. Currently I am trying to take off the cat's heat shield to access the 4 bolt flange. Well, as I suspected would happen, the speed nuts and bolts just spin without loosening. Any time proven technique to get these off? Saw, blue flame wrench? Exactly which ones do I have to remove, all of them? Thanks in advance. ~jeff

There are clips that are attached to brackets that has threaded holes to accept the 6mm cap screws. Are you saying the clips have sheared allowing the cap screws to just spin? In that case, there is no other way but to dremel the hex heads. Use a small long nose vise grips to keep the cap screw from spinning while chopping off the hex heads. Have fun.

Yes, that is indeed the case. The nuts are spinning with the bolt. I have a Dremel tool, what bit do you recommend?

I prefer the small (1-1/2" OD?) cut off discs.

The Dremel tool and cut off disks worked great! That is the way to go.
