Question Startup after long oil dran interval

All,

I have drained all the oil out some time ago to do various things like valve adjustment etc to my engine. Every last drop was drained out during this period of about two months. My Brad Penn 20 W 50 Racing oil is on its way to me and I want to get her fired up.
My question is, I want to just turn it over for a few spins before I let her fire. What is the simplest way to prevent fuel and spark delivery? I thought I read somewhere that all I have to do is unplug the DME relay. Is that so? Is this rely among the others in the trunk?

Thanks in advance.

Hans,
unplug the igniter modules (spark) or pull the fuse for the fuel pump. DME relay is probably under the front driver's seat - this will serve the same purpose.
Just kill fuel, no need to kill both fuel and spark.

Spin it to build oil pressure 10 to 15 seconds several times. Don't burn out the starter by cranking it longer per interval.

Doug

Thanks Doug,

Just the answer I was looking for! Got my Brad Penn "Green Oil" today, ready to get rolling. As long as the roads are clean and dry!

The DME Relay is in the fuse box in the front trunk under carpet, passenger side.

SXS<

I found it at:
LN Engineering
PO Box 401
Momence, IL 60954-0401.

I got it from their web site, they shipped it to me here in Ohio. I bought 12 quarts at $4.50 a quart and one gallon of Delvac 75W90 gear oil. Shipping was $14.54.

If you do not know all there is to know about this oil, they have some real good articles on their web site.

If you need anything else, let me know!

I've followed some/most of the " oil " threads with interest and thought I'd give them a try .

I'd gone to their website and didn't see anyone locally carrying it .

Thanks for the info .
