ISV = Idle Stabilization Valve is a likely culprit. Easy to take out and clean.

Don is right. Clean it and you should be good. Use some brake cleaner.

Hi James
Happy New Year!
I have now got around to taking the valve out and cleaning it but to no avail, looks like someone else before me tried that! I notice a bit of scoring on the bore,so I think i will replace it .
Regards
Dave

Where is the ISV = Idle Stabilization Valve

I have the same problem. (I know I should have bought the repair book and I will !)

Can anyone give me a hint or send a picture where I can find the ISV on my 1991 964 C2. Symptom is that when it is cold, I have to start the car 2 or 3 times.

Thx guys!
