Momo Wheel on a 964

when you mount a momo wheel on a 964 how do you eliminate the airbag light from coming on ?

There is a factory part from Porsche #928.612.220.00 But it is spendy.

You can just put in a resistor, 2.8-2.9 ohm 1/4 watt, into the plug you disconnect from the airbag. This fools the system to thinking an airbag is in place.

Caution 1: Disconnect they battery for at least 30 minutes before doing this. Overnight better.
Caution 2: Don't turn the key on with the airbag disconnected or you will likely trip the light.

Note 1: You may still need the Bosch Hammer (or equiv) to extinguish the light.

There is a jumper that gets installed. I may have mine in the junk pile of ripping out all the wiriing or it may have already been trashed. There were a couple threads on the 964 board on Rennlist about 2 years ago that had pictures and the part number for the jumper...

edit: (Don types faster I guess) I did not need anything to reset the light. The part was about $30 IIRC. It disables both air bags (as mine were both removed, it was moot).

I removed the light bulb from the gauge.
