Has anyone successfully replaced the engine bay sound pad w/o lowering the engine? Good idea/ Really bad idea?
If at all possible, I would like to avoid dropping / partially dropping the engine just to replace the pad - which is really falling apart and flaking all over the place... Thanks!

I recommend to just wait. The engine has to come out eventually for something else. Just do it then.

Pop the intake plenum off, stuff the intake ports with some rags, and go to town.
