993 Turbo Clutch Replacement Options?

The plan is to help a friend replace the clutch on his `1996 993 Turbo.

After reviewing some of the previous posts, still there are questions. There is the stock options, light weight flywheel, RS package etc???

The questions are what clutch options are available and what associated parts are needed. Of course the "while you are in there" items would be helpful too.

If folks like, I can document the process, similar the the G50 clutch tech article.

The basic options are
stock - dual mass flywheel, p/p, friction disk & hardware
singlemass f/w either 993RS M003 or aftermarket + stock as above
either of the above flywheels w/ centerforce or other aftermarket p/p & f/d
options here

most people like the single mass RS/CS M003 singlemass f/w, the downside is some extra gear rattle at idle. I would use the stock 993tt f/d & p/p w/ the RS/CS singlemass f/w but the centerforce is nice too

Aha - first I hear of this. I certainly hear the rattle at times from my clutch. Glad to learn this is normal. So, the M0003 is what's also referred to as a "cup" clutch?

Thanks,

George

I don't have the part # for 993Cups(M001) f/d
964RS(M002&M003) 964.116.011.30
964Cup(M001) 964.116.013.31
993RS/CS(M003) 964.116.011.61(i'm using this one)
993, 993RS(M002)& 993tt 964.116.114.90, 964.116.113.51, 964.116.113.52, 964.116.114.51, 964.116.114.52

the dual mass fly wheel was used on all the street oriented versions including 993RS M002. It helped damp out idle gear rattle
