Damaged Part
What is the function of the duct under the passenger side door sill just in front of the rear tire? I have been looking at a '91 C4 and this duct is dented and bent. There is a hard tube attached to it that is kinked also.

Are you talking about the 'duct' that's a few inches in diameter (and not really round but almost rectangular)? I thought it was structural and provides strength to the tub. The metal tubes that are in that area are the fuel and oil lines.
Sounds like the car was in an accident.

I walked on the car.
There is a bolt head on the bottom of the "duct" - approx. 14mm. The owner admitted that he used it for a jack point and the part bent up and damaged the associated tubes. I still don't know what the thing is for sure. It is sort of rectangular cross section but I don't kniow how long it is. Thanks, Chris |
