Stronger Headlight

I have a ´94 964 C2. Posted a few pictures a few month ago. I have a question? The headlights on this car a really week. Does anyone know how to improve this. Are there any aftermarket bulbs or inserts which make my nights brighter. Thanks for your help.

Herbert

Have you cleaned the inside of the lights? Often there is a film that some isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth (using a long chopstick through the bulb hold) helps quite a bit.

Then you can try brighter halogen bulbs.

The H5's suck. You can try higher wattage bulbs but it isn't much better. most switch to the older style H4's or if you can afford the H1's they are superior if not you can try an HID kit but most only offer low beams and are not street legal in many states but then again neither are H1's

Clean or replace the lenses,
then replace the bulbs with a halogen bulb rated about 5000 Kelvin.
The 5K Kelvin is close to pure white light,
just avoid the blue painted bulbs (unless you happen to like them)
Mine is 200% better/brighter than original now!!

I put HIDs on my 993 3-4 years ago. What a huge difference (better).

The 911 forum has a ton of info on this. To save you from reading 100's of threads, read this:
1) change to Euro H4 lamps (offered by our host)
2) install relay kit (offered by our host)
3) use 80/100Watt bulbs (ditto)

I changed to brighter bulbs. I forget what brand (Sylvania maybe?), but they are marketed as being brighter than standard. I think I had to order them from overseas. They made a noticeable difference, but they are not nearly as bright as some HID or Xenon kits you hear about.
