Child Seat Anchoring Point

Hi,

I have recently imported a Porsche 911, 993 C4S to Tasmania, Australia from the UK. During a recent inspection, the inspectors were unable to locate a child seat restraining bolt or anchor point. This is a section on their post 1989 car import checklist.

Do you know where the point is located?
Many Thanks

Hi there,

I looked over the workshop manual and did not find a reference to child seat anchor points. I also looked at photos from the tear down of my car, and didn't see anything obvious. I presume you are looking for something on the rear deck lid (under the rear glass)? Otherwise I assume the rear seat belt anchor points are used.

I can take the carpet off my rear deck easy enough if you need me to look further and I can also take pictures if you need.

Cheers,

Don

PS - spent two weeks in Tasmania for a wedding - beautiful country.

Canadian cars have the top anchor. I can take a pic tonight...I think you can cut holes and install these anchors. They are tucked underneath the rear shelf.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies. I seem to think that the anchor points are located somewhere behind the rear speaker shelf. Any pics or more light on this matter would be much appreciated. Cheers

Take a look at these

They should answer the tether question. Very easy to do, and one of the truly cheap mods I have ever done to the car. Good luck. The little ones love to rid in them, by the way. My 4 year old calls it "his" race car.
