964 Oil Lines

There are a series of weepy oil lines up in the front and rear of the right rear quarter of my 92 964. Has anyone found a good non-oem/better than oem replacement for these soft lines?

here's a shot of a few of them.

I haven't heard of aftermarket oil lines.

My advice is before you go change the lines, clean them up well and try to tighten the clips, that may fix your problem. If not, at least you'll know which lines are good and which ones are leaky.

From My experience the line that is leaking most likely is the longer and larger fabric braided line located in front(behind) of the two smaller ones. Pelican Parts has aftermarket lines for all of those lines ..

My C2's in the shop now getting a couple of lines replaced. He's having someone fabricate them from aircraft lines, which he says are better and less expensive than original Porsche lines. I don't have any further details, but it sounded reasonable to me.

I'm amazed that some of the lines that are 16 years old are still doing fine. You can either buy new lines or have new ones made to fit. While the components might be cheaper, the labor to custom make new ones might make them more expensive. My "964" is having lines custom made for the transmission cooler this week.

Yes, after cleaning up the lines and using the car, the oilness returned to that line mainly and seems to be leaking down on to everything else. I think I'll replace them all and the clamps since I really only want to get dirty once.

mcmaster carr supply has some material and conectors which will replace our lines. A friend used them on a an oil cooler he installed in a 914.

Mine, '92 964, must be out of warranty,16 years and they begin to weep. One replacement line $275 yikes, the smaller ones were cheap, all worth it. Much cleaner now.

Mark,
Was the P/N of the hose 964-207-254-07...? haven't been able to get an image of the hose to make sure I get the right one.

Can't figure out why these lines were never designed with wheel liner protection. Road water can penetrate older lines where the hose barrier has degraded, and sharp road debris can puncture a line right quick.

Coz, part number is 964 207 254 07 ,also get those smaller hoses p964 207 130 04 and 0964 207 217 00, kind of cleans up that whole area.
I drove the car some distance yesterday and had no faint smell of oil when I pulled into the garage, think I miss it but not the small spots on the floor.

Thanks Mark. My oil spots are becoming oil pools, so I can't wait to get it all cleaned up.
