fuel pump relay...where? 1991 C4
I have a 1991 C4 which is randomly quitting on me. I thought perhaps it is due to the fuel pump or the relay for the fuel pump. I have the new relay but do not know where it should go! The fuse boxes in the engine and trunk do not have a relay which matches my new one, nor does the chart for the box mention any fuel pump relay. Does anyone know where it goes?

Relay is in the relay board, the part number should be 944 615 237 00, the updated one, the new one is 993 615 237 00 is relay number 35 and is called the DME relay.

Sounds like the DME relay or "DME relais" as printed on the actual part. goes in the upper left of the relay box in luggage compartment.

thanks to both of you but I do not see anything with DME or that original part number 944xxxxxxx....I am looking in a box at upper passenger side in the luggage
compartment ...has fuses and relays in it. Is there another relay box somewhere? |

No, is the DME relay is in the fuse relay board. Look at the reverse side of the lid and it will tell you.
windshield right-------------left fuses IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII- O X O O X marks the spot
