I Have A Trunk Release Issue
 

There is a cover over the luggage compartment (trunk) release lever. Mine broke at the mounting points. I ordered a new one from our host and when it arrived, I saw that it mounted in a completely different way. The part number is the same and it's molded right into the piece.

Here is the picture:
My OEM unit has little fingers that spread out when the screw is turned; like a moly bolt.
The replacement uses locating rings and, most likely, longer screws that reach into a threaded part that I don't have. This must be a new design since the mounting boss is much more robust (But it has the same P/N)!

Does anyone have one of these covers that they no longer need? It has to have the little fingers like the one on the right.

You might try asking over on the track board too - someone that has ditched the factory setup for hood pins.
