993 Front Bumper Removal

Well, I've done the searches but not found exactly what I need. Could someone outline just what's involved in removing my '98 993 front bumper for paint? What are the pittfalls? Seems to me that I've read somewhere that there are some tabs that can break. Any advice for me? And, is there anything to watch out for when reinstalling?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Scott

While you have the front bumper off:

-clean the oil cooler radiator (passenger side)
-clean the a/c condensor (driver side)
-replace the ballast resistor for each of the above.

This is a very easy job. The most difficult part is removing the front part of the fender liner. The first time I removed the bumper it took a couple of hours..the last time, 15 minutes. Follow Don Plumley's advice and go to the DYI website...that is where I started. Print the photos and head for the garage!
Good advice to replace the ballast resistors while you are in there. The Pass. side is easy when the bumper is off. The Driver's side is a total PITA no matter what you do. Get the proper size allen wrench and grind off the short end down to about 1/2 inch long and buy a box of bandaids.
Have fun!

Does anyone know how well the DIY applies to a 964? I need to replace the oil cooler on the front right of mine.
