91 C2 Seatbelt/Air bag warning light
I am wondering if anyone would have an idea for the cause of my malady. The air bag light does not come on during the ignition phase and the seatbelt light stays lit once the engine is running. The owners manual says to see the Porsche dealer to correct a possible problem with the air bag system. I would like to avoid that if possible and correct it myself, if possible. Since the light has been on there has been a new metallic sound when I open and when I close the doors. I seems to come from around the left rear wheel area. I just can't quite locate it. I am going to go out on a limb and assume the two are related. Could it be one of the seatbelt sensors is loose? I can't get the car to make the sound other than when opening and closing the doors. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a similar trouble with the air bag since I pulled the spare tire out after a flat one day.
No codes, just a trouble indicator, gave up for now pulled the bulb and reset the toggle on the console. The metal sound when you close the door could be a heater flapper or door in the heating system, its like a flapping metal sound? turn the heat temp knob off, should stop after its been off a while ,its normal. |
