RS America roll bar question
Hey guys,
Question for you. I am looking at a bolt in roll bar that is designed to fit a 964/993sunroof car, by attaching to the seat belt mounts. I have a '93 RS America with the rear parcel shelf, and was wondering if anyone has fit one to their car if they have no back seats. Are the seat belt bolts/holes still there? Do you have to remove the shelf to get it to fit? Thanks.

I fit a standard coupe DAS bar into the back of my street RSA, it bolts to the lower seatbelt mounts at the door sills and to the rear seatbelt locations, it lined up fine but, no inserts were welded in the rear, the holes are there but no inserts. For rsa's the only ones that got the rear bolts were the 94's that have the rear seats. DAS sells a kit with the inserts to be welded in, but you do have to go through the carpet and the soundproofing to get it all in. It was a bit of a pain. I did modify the back corners of the parcel shelf, and worked the bar in with the shelf loose and then bolted it all back in. it has a nice factory look. So it can be done. I have another parcel shelf out of my racecar, the carpet is damaged and needs replaced, but if you wanted one to cut up I could make you a deal.
Let me know if you are going ahead with it and I can get some pics, the racecar is stripped and you can see the insert holes (sans inserts) later
