Got bored so I thought I'd see if they fit
My Speedster had the original Recaro SPG's that are great for the track and really comfortable once you got it but with the low bow top, I had to warm up with yoga before getting in.
Had a pair of late 996 GT3 seats with factory sliders sitting around that looked comfortable so thought I'd give them a try. Turned out to be a relatively easy install. Between all the mounting holes on the GT3 sliders and multiple holes on the 964 rails, found a combo that worked. Gave me a lot of extra legroom, height adjustment for extra headroom and power recline. GT3 rails also have the tab for seat belts so they are bolt on. Also, the GT3 seats are fairly light. Made the car a lot more practical. Next up. do 965 Speedlines fit a narrow body?? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238254301.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238254351.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238254403.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238254432.jpg |

The best part is how much more practical they have made the car for the street. Now it's on to the wheels. Had a couple of sets of RH 3.6 turbo wheels around and a set of Speedlines. Didn't think either one would work but threw the RH on and they fit perfectly. Reading Bill's post got me wondering so I measured the second set of RH's against the Speedlines and sure enough, the offset is about a 1/4" different on the rears. Oddly enough, the RH are also wider by about an inch but fit perfectly. Now I have to switch and see what's up. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238474047.jpg Amazing how much more tire you can get under them. New vs old rears. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238474107.jpg |
