Ignition wire replacement options
Hello all,
I need to replace the ignition wires on my '95 993. I am dreading doing the job more than buying the wires. My question is there any advantage to replace just the wire, reusing the both ends of the existing wires as far as installation goes. There's a guy on ebay selling the cut to lengh, crimped Beru wires. All you have to do is remove and reinstall the ends. I'm thinking there maybe an advantage to doing these one at a time as far as not getting the wires crossed and so on. The wires cost around $165 and I found the complete set at Vertex for a little over $400. Has anyone approached doing it this way? Thanks in advance, Randy |

Back in 2005 I bought a set of the "wires only" ignition wires from a guy off of rennlist. I had terrible luck with them. The wires were not terminated well, and I ended up unable to use a number of them. I understand he is still selling them, but if you can at all afford a new set, I'd recommend it. (At the time, I had to send him the lengths of the wires off of my 964 for him to make up the set for me)

why not just buy high quality ignition wire on a spool and remove one at a time and replace as you go. I had a great experience expeirence with adding ends to bulk wire. It is simple and easy, as well as much cheaper.
I'd make sure your ends are in good condition, though. mine were excellent. Doug
