New Wires equals pinging?
I just installed Nology wires on my 993 engine. The old berus where worn an two of them arcing.
BUT......... I now have pinging when I accelerate swiftly or when the engine is under load. What could have caused this??? Any clues? Does anybody have the diagram that tell the routing from a spark plug wire to it's designated position on a distributor cap>?? Hope to get some response because i don't understand the pinging |

pinging is your first clue that the distributor belt has broken, unless the wires are on wrong.

Try disconnecting one ignitor at a time and see if the engine still runs. If not chances are you have the order of the igntion wires wrong on one of the distributors or worse a snapped belt resulting in the secondary distributor not working at all
