964 door mirrors repair
Hello, I want to remove the glass of the door mirrors so that I can have it repainted. Can anyone tell me how to remove the glass?

I meant I want to repaint the side or door mirror body. I have to remove the glass.

I beleive you fold the mirror down and slide a tab to one side, not the hole mirror just the glass, Kevin

There is a castellated retaining ring which holds the mirror glass to the hub. Access to the retaining ring is through a small hole on the underside of the housing. The ring can be rotated by using a flat bladed screwdriver through the hole and pushing the ring around (I think, anti-clockwise). The glass will then come out quite easily.

Thanks Gardoni and computamedic for the info. I was able to pop out the glass from the door mirrors. It was hard to do. I'll have them repainted soon. Best regards
