Cool alarm system

My 964 has a leak under the windshield. Over the course of the winter I had the car parked without a cover and water got in and flooded the passenger side floor panel. Consequently my alarm control unit got wet.

At a different time the alarm on my car went off on its own during the middle of the night. It was doing it sporadically. I just disconnected the battery.

After a few weeks when I went out to start it up I noticed the battery had swelled and it would not start. I replaced the battery and it now cranks, but still won't start. I checked the plugs and I'm not getting a spark. I assume the alarm has immobilized the car.

Can anyone tell me how to see if this alarm control unit is indeed the problem. I replaced the DME relay and still nothing. After I replaced the battery I tried undoing the alarm by turning the key in the door. Only the passenger side lock goes up and down, but the car still doesn't start.

Any suggestions?
