Not so fond of vacuum bleeders, very messy and harder to use. I am using one of the Motiv Pressure bleeders. Very easy, fast and clean. You don't need to have the engine running for brake bleeding. There are a few very good "How to" articles out there on this form, Rennlist, p-car.com, etc. Good luck

Chris

The 964 turbo / C4 / RS / Cup brake system is completely different than regulars C2s. Here's the process:

1) Bleed the 4 calipers (RR, LR, LF, RF)
2) Bleed the "bomb" (unhook pressure pump, turn on ignition, pump pedal until its rock hard, undo bleed screw on bomb, hook up pressure pump, close value when fliuid looks good)
3) bleed clutch (not necessary, but does use same fluid res so if you want a complete flush its a good idea)

In order to open the ABS valves you need a Hammer. Its not really necessary to open the abs circuts, so just do the 3 steps above and you'll be all set.

And +1 on the Motiv over the vacuum bleeder. Get the pro version which has a CNC top and better tubing.

Hey Collin...that's quite a bit different then the manual. Where did this procedure come from???

Racers like me who are lazy (so we just do the minimum required)

I also use my motiv dry. I basically pump it up, and then watch the reservoir so as not to get too low. Then I top off after I have done each circuit. This is also a better way to flush the system completely IMO.

Ya...I've done that a few times myself! I found recently (after removing my calipers to service) I had to bleed the system via the manual as I couldn't get the pedal back.

Dave...if your interested pm me and I can get you the info from the manual. It's easy to do but does take a bit more time, and a lot more fluid!!
