Wheels for 964 C2 & Hard Top

Hello Porsche Guru's,

I have a 1991 964 C2 Cab - I have been wanting to upgrade to bigger wheels (currently I have 17" cup wheels) and lower profile tired for better handling. Some of the new wheels, such as the 18" wheels from a 993 Turbo, or the newer 996/997 wheels which are 18" or 19" relly quite nice BUT will they fit a 942 C2?

Many good deals on EBAY but since I am in Dubai, I do not have a shot at returning them if they do not not. Any advice would be useful.

Secondly, being in the dessert with 40C heat and a lot sand, my cabriolet top is taking a real beating. Are there any hard tops for the 964 anyone could recommend? And is the installation very difficult.

Regards,

Nomi Ahmad

They made a factory hard top but they are rare and pricey. Straight bolt on though.
On wheels, do a search and see what offsets work. Basically, I think most of the narrow body 993 and 996 wheels fit.

It's all about Offset or ET - if you source wheels with the same offset as your current ones, then they should fit. Here's a thread on offset with a nice illustration from Bill Verburg. Here's a thread on 997 wheels. Lots of detail here, here, and here specifically on 18" fittments.
