Carbs vs. EFI on 993 3.6L

Hi folks,

Looking for advice on which route to go on a 1995 993 engine. I figure the consensus here is to keep and push the EFI system (go for ITBs and new ECU), but I'm curious if there's a case to be made for going the carb route with PMOs, especially from a financial perspective.

Have only done a ITB 993 build.

There is no inexpensive route :-)

A lot will can be decided ($) by the ECU route you chose. EFI is easier to tune, maintain, cold start, etc.

Why move away from the stock intake for the 993 EFI (if not mod-ing the engine)? Varioram is a nice upgrade with proven modest performance increase.
