Heater fan won't shut off

My friend's C4 heater fan (in the engine compartment) won't shut off after the engine is shut off. Of course, this is killing the battery. Any ideas on root cause and fix? TIA

Sensor(s) in the heat tube. Probably the probe shaped one at the top. It thinks the engine is still hot and needs cooling after shutoff.

Sounds like a failing relay. Check the relays in the box in the engine compartment on the left side.

just wondering if you fixed this problem as my 1989 C4 is doing the same, but the relay is working fine, therefore i assume it is the temperature sensor.

please confirm.
