964 turns over but wont start

hi all,
last night my car would not start. turns over fine, feels like it wants to start, but nothing.
i was lucky to get it started few times after a dozen trys and then it runs great. If i roll the car down the hill in second gear, starts right up. Dilema,,
it means its getting fuel and spark, but why it wont start with the starter.
any help is appreciated.
thanks

Dear Hard start

Sounds like your engine may not be turning over fast enough with the starter. What is the age of the engine? Do you have a high compression on the engine? Have you tried another battery with more cranking power? Have you tried starting it with a powerful battery charger hooked up to it?

Good luck

still trying to figure out this situation. engine turns over really fast, battery is full, engine has comp., once it starts runs like champ. could it be that the gas pedal is sending wrong info to the computer?? it got little wet on the inside about a month ago.
cheers

well, its done.
took out the central lock/alarm box under the passenger seat, it was full of corrosion, the whole circuit plate was full of minerals,
used some electrical cleaner spray, scotch brite, cleaned the conectors and voila.
works like charm, car starts right up,
i guess its a common issue with the moisture under the seats.
hope this helps other frustrated members

Great job finding the problems. Those electrical problems can be challenging.

Happy Trails
