Strut brace questions
I am considering a strut brace, but I understand that some require you to cut the carpet? What I would be looking for is one that would fit without cutting the carpet, would also fit over the factory triangle storage, and would fit aftermarket struts as well as factory suspension. (looking to do coil-overs soon) Any suggestions with pics? As a last resort, I would consider cutting the carpet, but I do want to retain my triangle. This is a street car, not a track car. Cost and appearance always count, too!
I have the first year C4, if it matters.

I have a 95 C4. My factory RS strut brace fits under the carpet (tightly) with no real loss of pocket use.

I installed the 911chips (Steve Wong) strut brace on my '97. It fits under the carpet however it is tight enough that some of the carpet snaps no longer snap on.

Thanks for the replies, anyone with a 964? Is the trunk area different?

dewflex, I have an 89 c4 with a strut bar. I do not recall having to cut the carpet, or if I did it was only a slit for the bar. Its been a while since I installed the bar and if I remember correctly, it is a TRG Carbon Fiber. I'll try to take pics tomorrow.
The carpet is removed for DE purposes and is in storage but at least you will be able to see how the bar mounts up. lg |

I have an '89 C4 fitted with a strut brace from KLA Industries. It uses a 3-point mount each side and easily fits under the carpet and has no impact on the storage pocket.
