1996 993 C2 with a "South Africa" option code?

I have been shopping for a 993 for quite some time and I found a 993 that meets my criteria PERFECTLY, but it has some curious option codes.

First off it, carfax shows that it was originally delivered to and spent some time in Canada. So, it has option code “C36”, which kindel says is “Canadian Type Car”. Alright, no problem. HOWEVER, the car is also carrying option code “325” which kindel is saying “version for South Africa”. Carfax shows no history of this car being outside North America.

Is it possible that Kindel is wrong? Is it possible this car got some equipment group for South Africa, but was simply delivered to Canada? If that is the case, what would “South African equipment” be? Is there something I am missing here? Anyone ever heard of this before?

It’s more a curiosity thing for me at this point because chances are VERY high that I am going to buy the car.

Thanks in advance!

Carfax is not that thorough a search, especially on Canadian cars, I have had much better results with https://www.carproof.com/default.asp, no affiliation.

Is the VIN plate on the door jamb a US spec one? Canadian cars have a slightly different sticker.

I looked into a yellow '96 c2 here in the states that had the south african code and was told by more than one person when asking around about it that Porsche designated a certain amount of cars for that country but than because of dealer inventory or whatever some got sent to the states where they were in demand. I believe it got all the same government DOT stickers and paperwork all the other US cars got as PCNA would have had to do all that to clear customs. So basically its just Porsches way of importing a car destined for somewhere else to get it sold.
