Replaced shifter ball-cup bushings: now reverse is difficult

Hi Guys,

My wife lost one of her ball-cup bushings at the very front of her 965 shift linkage, so I replaced it. Two weeks later, the other one at the base of her shifter failed as well, so I replaced it as well, but now with the new one, her car is very difficult to get into reverse: gotta really press it left, rubbing the center console, to engage reverse.

I didn't see any adjustability & don't see how merely replacing the ball-cup (just the bushing was replaced inside the cup, not the entire cup assembly as sold by Porsche for like $100+) would do this.

Comments?

Mark
