964 targa top

Greetings all,

i have beeen enjoying my (1991) 964 for years and on a beautiful day here in Kauai I discover that my top will not release. It appears to be stuck on the right hand side. any links or suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you

Machisono

Do you mean it is in position and won't release so you can take the top off? There are two places where you use the tool on the inside. You can see where the top locks into the position when you are turning the tool. Does the right side look like it got jacked up somehow when you put it last time? If it turns correctly with the tool and it looks like the left side is it just a little tight where you can pop it with your palm a bit?

Hi Travis thanks for your reply. Yes the top was always lowered and closed electronically. I see the spots where a tool can be inserted, is the tool a special order?

thanks again

I'm sorry, are you talking about a Cabriolet or a Targa? My Targa has no electronics.
