964 tire experiences

Flat tire last night confirms it time for new ones. I know i saw a list of the tire brand and models Porsche approves, but now i can't find it. Does anyone have the approved tire list for the 964s?

What are your personal tire preferences. I have been using the Bridgestone RE's, which seem to be very good as far as feel and wet traction.

i never heard of a recommended list of tire brands from porsche. if there was one, i wouldn't use it to make a decision.

i have yokohama intermediates. they are very good for their price.

I have been using RE-730's and find it a good tire for the money in terms of general performance and durability. I just ordered a new set of wheels from Wheel Enhancement and chose the Bridgestone S0-2 N1's which should arrive next week. The SO2's are stickier than the 730's and should provide a quieter and more sure-footed feel....but I'll know better once I've put some time on them. Also heard good things about Michelin's Pilot Sport. Check Tirerack.com as their recent price drop on SO2's and Pilot Sports bring them well within reach.

Cool

I recently ordered two front tires from tirerack.com - 205/50ZR-17 Bridgestone Potenza S-02 N3

They are running a special on these tires. Both tires including shipping came to US$315.92

I have S02 in my 964 and in my 951. I like the ride, the feel, and the looks. What more can I say. Oh, yeah! I hate the price. So when there is a special like the one I found I try to order a set and keep them for when I need them.
