stereo antenna amp question..
(same post as the one on RL)
i'm in the process of installing a new head unit and the only wire i have a question about is the white wire that goes to the antenna amplifier. my new head unit has an antenna signal lead wire but i think that is more to signal a power antenna to go up/down when the radio is on/off. not sure if i should hook it up to the white wire going to the antenna amp or not.. i dont know what kind of signal that is supposed to be. what have you guys done?? |

The white wire provides a +ve 12 volts power supply to the amplifier. Most head units will provide sufficient power on the antenna output to do the job. If you don't connect the white wire the signal amplifier will have no power and your radio reception will be worse than useless.
