By Passing Air Con?
I run a 1991 964,i never use my Air Con and just lately started making a squealing noise. My question is , is there any way of taking the Air Con belt off and then locking the Alternator pulley and the fan pulley, therefore just using the fan belt as the drive.Alternatively is there a kit i could purchase to do the same job.Would really appretiate any thoughts on this and any links if anyone knows of a kit. Thanks

RS Pulley Kit. Uses a single pulley to drive the fan and alt. Alt runs a little slower which might be an issue if you have lots of electronics on at idle, but otherwise works great:

The a/c belt ONLY drives the compressor. Removing it (the belt that is) will have no impact on anything but the compressor. The two remaining belts drive the alternator and fan separately - unless you invest in the RS belt kit that Don linked to.
