If you are talking about the 17" Fuchs style wheels, it was my understanding that these were only made for the 911 cars from 1965 - 1988 model years. The offset is wrong for the late model 964 cars. Jim

rota wheels
yes, i need 17" style wheels. i´m developing a "911 r kit" for the 964.
special with the kit is - to bolt on, without cuting or welding. finished in kevlar-carbon. the 964 rs will be the protype. we try to have 380 supercarged hp and 2200 pound. they don´t sell the rotas here in germany. i must know if there is enough space for the big reds their quality´and weight. thank´s for your answeres. peter |

Peter, the offset usually found on the 964/993 cars is in the range of ET 52 on the front and 56- 61 on the rear. The early 911 offset wheels is in the ET 11 and up 23 in the rear. So it is not really the matter will they bolt up, sure, but then they will stick out from the car 2 - 3 beyond the fender opening. If you take the overall width of the wheel say a 7" it is really 8" from the further most edge of the rim to the other side. That number is then cut in half so you are looking a 4" then the ET number is the next distance from that real center number. 24mm roughly 1" so if you have 2" beyond the center line that is how the front wheels are measured for the ET. The early fuchs wheels mounting point would be 1/2" beyond the center line of 4". Jim

Peter,
Check into the Sport Classic wheels that resemble the Fuchs. These probably are 19" wheels, but their offset will be a lot closer. ![]() George |

Look at Zuffenhausen wheels. They make a 17" Fuchs look that is better than any!
