What is gonna happen if I put turbo spark plugs in my non turbo 3.6 C2 911

OK the electrode length is longer for the turbo plugs Bosch FR6LDC
than the standard called for Bosch FR5DTC. Will the longer electrode L (5) hit the piston verses the called for standard D (3)?

I know the 5 is cooler than the 6 and the D is for double electrodes and the T is for triple electrodes with the ending C for copper.

Any suggestions for spark plugs to run in a street-able 911 C2 1991 cab trip?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1272174502.jpg

I would run the plugs that are listed in your owner's manual, if those are FR5DTC, use them.

If you are concerned about clearance, put a small ball of play-doh or clay on the end of the plug, install the plug to the proper torque, and turn the engine over by hand. I think you will find the clearance should be OK.

More critical is the thread length, if threads are exposed in the combustion chamber and they get covered by carbon, you may never get those plugs out.

BTW, the FR6LDC is not really a turbo plug, it is a suitable replacement for those folks that don't want to pay $12.50-$15.00 per plug for the WR6DP0. According to Bosch, turbo plugs use solid platinum electrodes because that is what works best in those engines.

Good Luck,
Mark
