Need a part number, doing an oil change
I need a part number so I can order more of the oil return line washers. These are the little green washers that are flat and wide and are on the end of the oil line you remove to take out the longer, thinner oil filter from the side of the engine. I seem somewhat unable to locate the part number. Mine is leaking around the washer. I'm hoping to change the oil in the near future and would LOVE to address this nagging issue. Thank you!

Two part numbers are listed: 999 707 316 40 and 999 707 309 40
The first one is the common one and is in stock (on order to arrive Friday). The second one is oustide sourced (on order also to arrive in a week). Any bets as to which one is the "correct" item? I'm guessing the one that comes later and would delay an oil change... |
interesting. they both point to the same part on the parts diagram...

Mark,
That was only part of my confusion. My other issue is I keep remembering this o-ring as being flat, and thick. Now I have to find out if it is from the oil system in my truck or the steering or oiling, or hydraulic systems on the tractor! I seem to have confused the lot. Anyway: 999 707 316 40 was the correct o-ring for my application it would appear. I do not note any leaks from around this o-ring. Installed with a slight film of oil around after wiping down all surfaces with a paper towel. |
