964 rear wing replacement

I'm replaceing my retractable wing with a fixed carrera wing. Will I have any electrical issues when disconecting the harness for retractor motor. What about the lamp on instrument panel.

Not sure. You could take the bulb out since it will not mean anything anyway.

I put a fixed wing on a few months ago. Simply disconnected the plug near the oil filter and jumper 2 pins (#3 to #7). I then put a plastic bottle cap over the plug and wrapped it with black electrical tape.

This is necessary on the early model years, otherwise you get the big red "!".

Now, on startup, the warning light glows for a few seconds, then goes out.

Remove the spoiler control unit from the plug in the passenger footwell area. That will kill the idiot light.

Afterthought-What did you do with your retractable spoiler? Hope that it didn't go to the metal recycler! I am interested in the microswitches and possibly other bits.

I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet but I'll figure it out soon. I bought a replacement deck lid so I didn't have to modifiy the original this way I can put the back to the stock look if I sell it.

The neighbors are thinking "What's Kevin doing driving his 911 in his front yard again?"

Looks great! I've got a soft spot for white 964's.
