Sunroof repair

Thanks to all the Pelican folks for the threads on this issue as well as Pelican's "how to" article on the repair itself.

I have decided to attempt to repair a broken drivers side cable on my sunroof with JB weld. I noticed that a few posts have mentioned that this was done (trying to save the $125.) My question is: how long did the repair last if you used the JB weld as an option. I guess I want to know if my repair attempt will get me 10 uses or 1000 uses.

I might just be fooling myself to think that it will work, but I guess it is worth the $6 repair attempt. Maybe I will be repeating this repair soon...
